Get your kids out into the trails for some fun filled shredding and instill great riding habits early. We run kids specific mountain bike courses throughout the year to give your child the skills they need to ride safely and with confidence. Progressive skills are introduced in well-structured lessons to provide essential riding techniques built for young riders to get them flying.
We offer Weekly Skills Rides, School Holiday Camps and Birthday Party Mountain Bike Rides, all of which have been designed to benefit young learners in a relaxed, supportive and fun environment.

We ride every day of the week except for Sundays. Our weekly sessions take place after school until sunset, while our weekend groups ride from 9am until sunset.

What you need to know:
Our weekly classes are based on a skills progression programme to ensure a quick learning curve. We identify your child’s skills level and find him/her a suitable group for optimal progression. We offer Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced Level groups. Our program focuses on skills, fitness and adventure time.
Skill level:
Foundation Level
Can brake, steer, pedal and balance the bike without support.

Advanced Level
Is confident to perform all of the listed techniques in the Beginner and Intermediate Level.

Learn bunny hop | Efficient and smooth riding | Negotiating steep technical terrain incl. rooty and rocky up & downhill | Riding bigger drop offs and ramps (XCO level) | Slow speed drills incl. endos, side hops, static hop | Fitness training for improved endurance and speed.

Not one skills ride is like the other, and we like to flow with the energy level of the children but typically keep to the following structure:
5 min Meet and greet, prepare bikes
45 min Skills, drills and adventure outride
10 min Short snack break (if required)
55 min Skills, drills and adventure outride
5 min Wrap-up, pack-up bikes
Holiday Camps
During school holidays we offer our popular kids specific mountain bike workshops. Over the years we ran numerous skills training camps and help your child to improve her riding technique. The fun factor is very important during the skills clinics with some specific technique drills in the first half and practical application in single trails during the latter half.

What is covered:
Kids who are new to riding or with very little experience, will be introduced to the core skills of mountain biking, including correct body position and attack, pumping, balance, how to corner in control, controlling the bike on loose gravel, dealing with drops and tackling obstacles on the trail.
Experienced Junior riders will improve their wheel lifts, jumping technique, cornering techniques and be challenged with steeper terrain and intermediate to advanced level trails.
Programme:

09:00-10:00 Singletrack skills coaching and practice incl. warm-up ride, focus on specific riding techniques as per level and programme

Birthday parties, school cycling lessons & tailored kids rides
Over the years we have hosted numerous kiddies birthday parties with the aim to have tones of fun while improving skills in a playful and safe space. We incorporate specific yet playful technical drills in the first half, and practical application out on the trails during the latter half the ride. We use games and other activities to keep the training fun, interactive and enjoyable.
We recommend to keep groups small with a max of 6 Kids per coach to ensure control and safety.

Location:
Bloemendal Trail Park in Durbanville and Constantia Uitsig are our preferred venues for kids parties. Both offer party catering and have a fabulous network of trails suitable for beginner to advanced riders.
If you can provide your own catering then the Leatt Bike Park in Hoogekraal (Durbanville), Deer Park or Higgovale in Cape Town, or Tokai Forest are additional venues to host birthdays.
