We run kids specific mountain bike courses throughout the year to give your child the skills they need to ride safely and with confidence. Progressive skills are introduced in well-structured lessons to provide essential riding techniques built for young riders to get them flying.
We offer Weekly Skills Rides, School Holiday Camps and Birthday Party Mountain Bike Rides, all of which have been designed to benefit young learners in a relaxed, supportive and fun environment.

What you need to know:
Our weekly classes are based on a skills progression programme to ensure a quick learning curve. We identify your child’s skills level and allocate them to the correct group to ensure they progresses over the course of each term. We offer Beginner Level 1-2, Intermediate Level 3-7 and Advanced Level 8-10 classes. Our programme focuses on skills and fitness training. At the end of each month we organise a race where each child can measure their performance against other kids.
Skill level:
Beginners (Level 1-2)
Can brake, steer, pedal and balance the bike without support.

Advanced (Level 8-10)
Is confident to perform all of the listed techniques in the Beginner and Intermediate Level.
Program: Learn american bunny hop | Efficient and smooth riding | Negotiating steep technical terrain incl. rooty and rocky up & downhill | Riding bigger drop offs and ramps (XCO level) | Slow speed drills incl. endos, side hops, static hop | Fitness training for improved endurance and speed.

Holiday camps
During school holidays we offer our popular kids specific mountain bike workshops. Over the years we ran numerous skills training camps and help your child to improve her riding technique. The fun factor is very important during the skills clinics with some specific technique drills in the first half and practical application in single trails during the latter half.

What is covered:
Day 1 – Foundation:
Core skills to develop kids mountain biking including correct body position and attack, balance, how to corner in control, controlling the bike on loose gravel and gradients, dealing with small drops and tackling obstacles on the trail all providing great foundations for riding with confidence.
Day 2 – Technical:
Day 2 gets technical with wheel lifts for tackling obstacles found on the trail, dealing with tricky trail features such as rocks and roots, assured cornering and maintaining speed into corners, how to tackle drops in the trail and and introduce flow into their riding.
Day 3 – Flow:
The techniques learned on day 2 will help to ride with great flow, pumping the bike on fast flowing trails, railing berms and carrying speed into corners, we’ll cover the fundamentals of getting two wheels off the ground safely and in control, moving around on the bike to get the most out of every inch of the trail. Day 3 includes a 20 min race at the end.

Custom built workshops are focused around exactly what your group or your programme outcomes need whether it is a birthday party or a school specific event. We are flexible and can make sure your goals are achieved which goes beyond just riding skills and can
incorporate strong personal development themes including building confidence, encouraging active lifestyles and setting and reaching personal goals.
Our staff are fully trained and experienced tutors and will tailor the workshop to make everyone feels challenged and exhilarated, whilst never compromising their safety or comfort. We will stay flexible to make sure you get what you need without unnecessary stress or pressure.
Location:
Sessions run in Cape Town and surroundings. We can travel to your local trail, local park or come to a school ground near you.
Sessions running times can be flexible. Contact us to discuss putting a workshop or multi-day programme together for your group. Mountain bikes are not provided for the sessions so please bring your own well maintained bike and helmet (compulsory).
